Purpose of Project and Background
Overall objective: To promote and protect the human rights of migrants in targeted countries, migration corridors and regions through a globally coordinated civil society action, with a specific focus on migrant domestic workers and victims of human trafficking.
Sp. Obj. 1: To foster a harmonised and coordinated approach to civil society organisations towards the protection of human rights of migrants, in particular regarding migrant domestic workers and victims of human trafficking
Sp. Obj. 2: Migrants’ access to social services of the targeted countries, and provision of services, is enhanced through small scale CSO projects.
Sp. Obj. 3: To build and strengthen the capacities of civil society organisations to support the improvements of human rights of migrants, in particular regarding migrant domestic workers and victims of human trafficking

The project complements the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement mission to reduce risk and improve the lives of vulnerable migrants throughout their journey and is in accordance with the IFRC Policy on Migration principle 4: “Recognizing the Right of Migrants” and principle 5: “Linking Assistance, Protection and Humanitarian Advocacy for Migrants.”
Project objectives
Under the supervision of the Lead, Migration & Displacement, the consultant will carry out specific tasks required for the finalization of the 45-month Rights of Migrants in Action project. These tasks include:
· Coordinate the finalisation of the project with IFRC Secretariat and DG DEVCO, by focusing on CSO projects carried out in Asia/Pacific, Central Asia and MENA
· Produce the final reports for the contracts DCI/MIGR/2013/317-809 and DCI-MIGR/2014/352-958, including analysis of the reports and consolidation of data from the 43 implementing CSOs
· Guarantee the coherence of the Final reports with DG DEVCO and IFRC standards and ensure submission within the deadline of 30 June 2018
· Compile evidence of communication and advocacy material produced during the project implementation
· Organise and coordinate with DG DEVCO the final event of Rights of Migrants in Action at the DG DEVCO InfoPoint
Desired outcomes
· The final reports for the contracts DCI/MIGR/2013/317-809 and DCI-MIGR/2014/352-958 are produced in coherence with DG DEVCO and IFRC standards and shared with DG DEVCO within the set deadline
· Advocacy and communication materials produced during the project implementation are collected, organised and presented
· The outcomes of the final evaluation are incorporated in the final reports
· The concept note and agenda of the Final event are developed
· The final event is organised at the DG DEVCO Infopoint
Method of delivery and reasons for selecting that method
· The following methods have been identified for the development of the tasks mentioned above:
o Desk study of the existing reports from IFRC and CSOs
o Collection of data by interviews with stakeholders involved in the implementation of the project
o Coordination with DG DEVCO, IFRC Secretariat and Red Cross EU Office
o Development of a template where the advocacy and communication materials produced during the project implementation will be presented
Support to be provided to the consultant
The Lead, Migration & Displacement will be available for any support required by the consultant including coaching, guidance and coordination with the other team members.
