Background:
The IFRC Health department is establishing its new structure with a particular focus on health in complex settings. In the pursuit of covering the last mile and reaching the most vulnerable populations at risk of avoidable morbidity and mortality, focused support is required to build up the ongoing RMH file with the purpose of grasping opportunities for new funding and implementation in emergencies and fragile states. The principal objectives of this consultancy are to provide technical support, training and coordination of RMH activities.
Alignment to the IFRC’s objectives and strategy
(IFRC’s Strategy 2020)
The IFRC RMH programme contributes to Strategy 2020 by supporting national programs to implement and scale-up key RMH activities
The project will also help achieve the first enabling action, which is to build stronger National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
Consultancy objectives
Coordinate ERU RMNH Service Package development and dissemination including consensus workshop, training and ongoing technical updates
- Provide technical support in RMH innovations and technologies, including adaptation for implementation in emergency and complex settings
- Provide technical support for ERU Blood SWG literature and technology review
- Provide support for RMH workshops and meetings, including ERU RMNH SWG
- Provide support for EWEC/GFF
- Develop and disseminate RMH toolkit
- Provide support for resource mobilization, scale up and monitoring/evaluation of RMH activities
Location
- This consultancy will be conducted remotely from the consultant’s home location and may include work at the IFRC Geneva office and missions to countries
Support to be provided to the consultant
The consultant will be given access to all relevant documentation to support this consultancy.
IFRC will facilitate all relevant contacts and both country level and external partners to support this consultancy.
The IFRC Health in Complex Settings and Community and Emergency Health Teams will provide required technical support to the consultancy and oversight of the consultancy will be done by the Senior Officer, RMH
Time Allocation
The consultancy timeframe is 12 month with a total number of billable days of 140 days
