Organization: International Federation of Red Cross And Red Crescent Societies
Closing date: 11 Sep 2020

Overall objective:

The overall objective of this consultancy is to support the rollout of the 2020-2021 eCBHFA workplan. eCBHFA is an enhanced integrated community-based approach in which RCRC volunteers work with their communities in identifying different aspects of vulnerabilities and offer solutions to them. The eCBHFA approach puts communities at the centre of the process.

The central objective of the 2020-2021 eCBHFA workplan it to ensure each of IFRC’s five regions has the capacity to support National Societies as the implement activities using the eCBHFA approach.

Background:

CBHFA’s contribution is grounded in committed individuals, staff and volunteers who come from and live in the communities they serve. Trained in health literacy, behavior change and health promotion they engage their local community in identifying and addressing community health issues where they occur. It involves ongoing community interaction and capacity building to identify issues which directly or indirectly affect the community’s health. Staff and volunteers work to identify vulnerable groups and ensure activities are adapted to allow for improved inclusion. CBHFA uses a behaviour change approach to health promotion to develop an action plan to address the root causes of the health issues a community faces and ensures the community is linked to the local health system.
