Job Purpose
The post holder is responsible for supporting, assisting and adviseing the leadership of national red cross societies to “consistently deliver, through volunteers and staff, relevant countrywide services to vulnerable people sustained for as long as needed”. S/he promotes and facilitates quality learning processes and support modernization initiatives, stimulating new humanitarian and development thinking to help national red cross societies to change and grow. The post holder reports to the Head of Country Cluster Support Team. S/he is a key member of the team liaising with and supporting the leadership of national red cross societies, and, forms part of the management team of the country cluster support office.
Position Requirements
Education
- Relevant university degree or equivalent in social science, development studies, quality and organizational management, or business development
- Master of Business Administration from a top-ranked school - preferred
Experience
- 5+ years proven experience in successfully facilitating organizational change
- 5+ years proven experience in successfully facilitating volunteering and youth development processes
- Experience working in a membership or volunteer-based organization at senior level
- Professional volunteer and youth management training
- Proven successful experience in strategy development, implementation and monitoring
- Proven successful experience in resource mobilization, partnership development and institutional communication
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the application of the various Federation tools including VCA, National Society self-assessment, YABC, CAS and Operational Alliance concepts - preferred
- Experience as a volunteer in the RCRC - preferred
Knowledge, skills and languages
- Excellent consulting and management skills
- Ability to work with leadership and senior management of an organization -
- Ability to manage and transfer knowledge and install skills in others
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment
- Excellent negotiation skills
