The IFRC Health department is establishing its new structure with a particular focus on complex operating environments. Focused support to build up the ongoing immunization file is required in order to be able to grasp opportunities with our reach for new funding and implementation of activities in the context of fragile states in the pursuit of covering the last mile and reaching the most vulnerable populations at risk of vaccine preventable communicable diseases. One of the principal objectives of this consultancy is to support the scale up of IFRC’s Global Immunization Programme.
Objectives:
Provide management support to the immunization program including:
support for the development and submission of proposals and project cooperation agreements for partners including UNICEF, CDC, Pfizer, GSK funding and others, as required.
communication with donors and partners including timely submission of reports
monitoring ongoing activities at the field level,
monitoring budget
providing support for field work.
Support new or continued engagement into the IFRC’s immunization program from National Societies
Organization of country level workshops or regional / global workshops, training activities, and field work as needed
Technical support to immunization field projects as needed
Participation in working groups and conference calls with key partners including the Measles and Rubella initiative.
Consultancy deliverables
A written report with recommendations per country mission.
Location
This consultancy will be conducted at the IFRC Geneva office, remotely from the consultant’s home location and will include in-country missions to countries.
Support to be provided to the consultant The consultant will be given access to all relevant documentation to support this consultancy. IFRC will facilitate all relevant contacts and both country level and external partners to support this consultancy.
The IFRC Health in Complex Settings Team will provide required technical support to the consultancy and oversight of the consultancy will be done by the Senior Health Officer, Immunization.
