Job Purpose
The Intern will manage a process of consolidating information regarding global surge deployment and existing roster profiles to allow optimal use of the roster and understanding of capacities.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect and compile information, analyse it and put it into an simple data base excel template. •To compile and create statistic of FACT Deployments.
- Reorganize some of the existing documentation related to the global tools deployment.
- Collect profile information and update the existing database and alert base system.
- Other tasks assigned by the Surge team.
Education
Required:
- Applicants for internship positions must be currently enrolled in a university or equivalent level, or have graduated recently in an area that is compatible with the IFRC activities.
Preferred:
- Academic background in disaster management, information management, international development or similar related to humanitarian assistance.
Experience
Preferred:
Experience in Information management / structuring of data
Knowledge, skills and languages
Required:
- Information / data management
- Organisation of and presentation of statistical data
- Advanced spreadsheet / database user
- Fluency in English
- Knowledge of humanitarian assistance and the IFRC / RCRC movement
Preferred:
- Second IFRC language (French, Spanish, Arabic) Competencies and values
Comments
The basic internship is intended for young people pursuing university level education to gain work experience in the area of their education.
The basic intern must meet the following criteria:
Be currently-enrolled in a university or equivalent level, or have graduated within 1 year from the date of hiring in an area that is compatible with the IFRC activities.
Remuneration:
A daily allowance of CHF 75.00 is paid to basic interns for each day worked at the IFRC at the end of each month. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation, insurance and living expenses are the sole responsibility of interns themselves.
