The Disaster Law consultant will have the following responsibilities:
Drafting of the DM Bill
- Develop the zero draft of the DM Bill in line with the National DRM Strategy Disaster Law tools and recommended best practices in the region.
- Technically support the deliberation of the zero draft during working group meetings and technical stakeholder engagements.
- Support in the development of the action plan with clear and achievable timelines for the finalization of the DM Bill
Technical support and capacity building to the South Sudan Red Cross:
- Provide training and guidance to the SSRC Disaster Law Legal Advisor in the development of Disaster Risk Management instruments.
- Provide support to SSRC in their engagements with MHADM and other stakeholder groups in the DM Law development process.
Support the SSRC in the development of an advocacy strategy for the finalization of the Bill with note to key stakeholders to be continuously engaged by SSRC, in follow up with the action plan.
