Job Purpose
Support the enhancement of IFRC’s security risk management capability in Haiti under the supervision of the Head of Country Cluster support team and with the technical guidance of ARO’s Regional Security and Safety Coordinator and Regional Security Unit.
Apply strategic and operational security risk management activities, constantly providing context analysis and work to ensure the duty of care at all times for all IFRC personnel and activities in the country.
Position Requirements
Education
- University degree in a relevant field
- Professional training in security management
Experience
- 3 years working experience in a similarly wide-ranging role
- Familiarity with Movement and International Federation policies and guidelines - Preferred
- Past field experience in humanitarian security and analysis work in high risk contexts, preferably in the Region and with the RC/RC.
Knowledge, skills and languages
- Good understanding of physical and procedural security measures
- Excellent understanding of IFRCs Minimum Security Requirements
- Availability to work outside normal working hours, e.g. weekends or night hours, if necessary
- Valid driving license
- Valid first aid and fire safety certification - Preferred
- Ability to work in a cross-cultural and cross-functional environment
- Excellent reporting skills
- Ability to work towards tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks
- Dependable interpersonal skills and excellent conduct
- Critical and analytical thinking
- Understanding of Haitian context and challenges
Languages
- Fluently spoken and written French
- luently spoken and written Creole
- Fluently spoken and written English
- Good command of another IFRC official language or relevant in the region (Spanish) - Preferred
