Technical support to the IFRC Reproductive and Maternal Health

Background:

The principal objective of this consultancy is to provide high level technical support on sexual, reproductive maternal and newborn health guidelines, training and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) tools for implementation in humanitarian emergencies. Secondary objectives include provision of editorial and coordination support for technical documents, webinars/teleconferences and meetings.

Consultancy objectives

  1. Produce IFRC RMNH Clinical Standards for Emergency Response Units (ERUs) including the following topics

  2. Routine obstetric and newborn care (RONC) – including antenatal, childbirth and postnatal care

  3. Comprehensive Emergency obstetric and newborn care (CEmONC)

  4. Blood transfusion for obstetric indications

  5. Clinical management of rape

  6. Contraception

  7. Contribute to the development of training materials and tools (including clinical scenarios/simulation exercises) and provide technical support for trainings

  8. Develop M&E tools that are practical to implement in ERUs, including key indicators

  9. Provide editorial support and support coordination of webinars/teleconferences and meetings

Location This consultancy will be conducted remotely from the consultant’s home location and will include travel as needed

Dates of consultancy: from 1 Feb 2019 to 31st December 2019, with completion of Objective 1 prior to 10th May 2019.
