Communications Specialist to support the Gavi CSO Platforms' Project
The Gavi CSO Oversight Advisory Group (OAG) plays a key role in ensuring that project achievements are successfully and appropriately communicated to a wide range of immunisation stakeholders, including the Gavi Alliance, the project’s primary funder, to ensure on-going support for the role that local CSOs play in supporting immunisation and health systems.

To support the OAG in their aim of ensuring good strategic communications around the CSO country platforms project, and ahead of a key upcoming global event that will bring together all Gavi-supported country-level CSO platforms, we are seeking a communications consultant.
The Gavi CSO Project is hosted by the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent.
Deliverables:
The consultant will be home-based and will be responsible to deliver the following products:
· Support development of an IMS: The consultant will support the development of the Information Management System/Strategy (IMS), and use the system to store newly collected and produced materials. Propose a strategy to store and share documents/information from platforms with relevant stakeholders.
· Develop communication materials for marketing purposes: Develop a set of communication materials to showcase the work done by the platforms over the past years, based on already available material as well as by generating new materials. Materials could include:
o An over-arching brochure to advertise the project
o Thematic brochures with case studies on learnings/good practices
o Etc… innovative ideas are very welcome
§ All should be produced both for electronic and paper versions
· Collect new material: Collect and document experiences and success stories from countries via email, phone and in-person contact. This will include at least two country visits (possibly more if needed)
· Learning event: Travel to Senegal to support the CSO Country Platforms Learning Event on 18-21 September, 2017. This will include gathering as many stories as possible during the four days, and possibly leading communications-focused sessions at the Learning Event
· Newsletter: Develop a model/template for the project’s quarterly newsletter and draft the first one
· General: Support the OAG Coordinator’s communications needs as requested
Desired Profile:
The consultant should have the following competencies:
Desired:
· At least five years of professional experience in communications/design/knowledge management, in an international setting
· Bilingual English/French (spoken and written)
· Proficiency in the use of formatting/editing softwares
· Able to work in autonomous manner, proactive and open to collaborative approaches
Preferred:
· Knowledge of, and previous experience in, immunisation and health
· Familiarity and experience with the Gavi Alliance
· Proven track record ofn designing innovative communication materials to capture and report on the work of local CSOs
· Country-level experience, ideally in the domain of public health and immunisation
Timeline:
It is envisioned that the consultancy will run from September to December for approximately 55 working days, depending on consultant’s daily rate, to be spread out across the months as the consultant sees fit.
