Organizational Context
The intern will work in the Risk and Vulnerability function of Disaster and Crises Prevention Response Recovery (DCPRR) Department and provide technical and administrative support to work managed by the Department, particularly related to the populating of the online Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment (VCA) repository, doing quality control of the reports and supporting the outreach to NS and the wider RCRC Network requesting them to contribute existing VCA reports and plans of action. The intern may also be requested to support the development of a digital VCA app.Job Purpose

Job Duties and Responsibilities
The intern will support the efficient running of the VCA repository development in the IFRC Secretariat’s Geneva office, in close collaboration with the Global Disaster Preparedness Center. This will include undertaking the necessary administrative and technical tasks, more specifically:
- Populate the web-based platform with available VCA reports and Plans of Actions on IFRC sharepoint site.
- Outreach to National Society and wider RCRC network (including previous staff and volunteers) to encourage them to contribute existing VCA reports and follow-up plans of action to the VCA repository.
- Manage simple quality control of reports that are uploaded to repository.
- Contribute to related efforts to create a new digital VCA application.
Education
- University degree in Geography, Development, Humanitarian Studies or equivalent - Experience
- Minimum of 1 years of relevant experience in an international organisation - Preferred
Knowledge, skills and languages
Required:
- Excellent organizational and strong coordination skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Computer skills
- Good command of English and report writing,
Preferred:
- Knowledge of Spanish
- Broad understanding of RC/RC Movement and technical areas
- Sound understanding of disaster risk management at local level
