Job Purpose

The Project and Data Management Intern – sit with the Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting (PMER) and Quality Assurance Unit in APRO based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Project and Data Management will work under the overall guidance of the Asia Pacific Regional Head of PMER and Quality Assurance.
The internship will provide support to ensure and improve the performance, quality and accountability of programming under a results-based management approach. S/he will also support the development of learning strategy and initiative.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Specific Tasks:

  • Support in updating the Programme Management training curriculum
  • Support in coordinating the reporting related to operational plans, liaising with the technical departments, undertaking quality control and final editing for all plans/reports, ensuring that professional standards are adhered to, and deadlines are met
  • Support in coordinating lessons learned workshops, review and evaluation
  • Support in the development of the regional learning strategy
  • Maintain archives as an integral function for all plans/appeals/reports undertake
  • Perform any other duties related to this internship as may be assigned by the AP Regional Head of PMERQA or Senior PMER Officer

Education

  • In Graduate Studies preferred, as part of the internship requirement in university.
  • Bachelor’s level also welcome to apply

Experience

  • Good knowledge and relevant work experience in the regional context (Required)

Knowledge, skills and languages

  • Fluently spoken and written English
  • Strong skills in Microsoft office tools
  • Ability to work within a multi-cultural, multilingual, multidisciplinary environment

    • The intern will work during normal working hours (maximum 35 hours per week).
    • The intern will be based at the Asia Pacific Regional Office (100% of the time) in Kuala Lumpur. No travel is required.
    • The duration of this internship is three (3) months, with the possibility to extend depending on performance and availability of funding
    • The ideal candidate should have graduated within the past 12 months with – or be working towards – an advanced academic background and work experience in Project and/or Data management, with interest in becoming familiar with the international humanitarian or development sector

    Terms and Conditions:

    • The intern will be required to provide proof of medical insurance coverage.
    • Costs and arrangements for travel, visas or residence permit, accommodation and living expenses are the sole responsibility of the intern.
    • Should the visa or residence permit allow employment, an allowance of CHF 400 (or equivalent in local currency) per month will be provided to the intern.
