Job Purpose
The Türkiye Delegation, Communications Department has ventured itself to develop new trends within the IFRC and the humanitarian system, adopting a values-based and positive approach, always looking to innovate humanitarian communications with a pop culture touch.
We are currently developing a series of campaigns including digital and Street Art, some already being nominated for international awards, and thus we are looking for an experienced X-Media Delegate that aims to explore innovative strategies, expand our exposure with influencers in Europe and the Middle East, and does not shy away from acting outside the box.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Communications Delegate (X-media) is responsible for the following:
X-Media and content strategy development, monitoring and implementation
- Design the Above Standard Visibility social media strategy targeting mainly EU and Türkiye markets. Find innovative content and dissemination strategies always aiming to reach new audiences through institutional platforms, influencers networks and other.
- Act as X-media advisor to all IFRC Türkiye campaigns and ASV strategy conducted with creative agencies and in coordination with IFRC Global and the regional office in Europe and MENA, as well as other National Societies across Europe and MENA
- Act as X-Media focal point working with the Global Communications Team, EU and MENA teams, and National Societies to support other digital platforms and global campaigns (when required). This will include developing and supporting the development of compelling content to position the work and priorities of the IFRC and its National Societies among Arabic-speaking audiences.
- Expand the IFRC Turkiye DEL influencers network in Europe and the Middle East working in collaboration with creative agencies and other IFRC Global/Regional offices
- Responsible for producing social media S.O.Ps for the Türkiye DEL and inter-IFRC coordination ensuring the effective implementation of the social media strategy and monthly editorial plans
- Responsible for regular social media monitoring, analytics and reporting and advising/introducing corrective actions, with a to do mind-set, looking to always innovate in content, approach and disseminations strategies, including the use of new platforms and influencers
- In coordination with the AV Officer, find new creative ways to produce, disseminate and showcase content with the EU audience, Türkiye (in close coordination with Turkish Red Crescent), a variety of stakeholders and the wider Red Cross Red Crescent network. The aim is to boost the development of positive content trends managing new audiences.
- In coordination with the AV officer, develop the monthly social media and editorial plan, in collaboration with the Turkish Red Crescent on all platforms as outlined in the above standard visibility plan under the ESSN. Coordinate content with the various stakeholders, including IFRC at country, regional and global levels; Red Cross EU; and Turkish Red Crescent.
- Oversee production, management, analysis and reporting of the ads on social media platforms for all campaigns within communications department.
- Update and populate the ifrc.org website.
- Conduct media and social monitoring and produce weekly reports for circulation within the IFRC Türkiye DEL and other Delegations
X-Media Learning and Capacity Building:
- Support the development, organization and implementation of trainings and capacity building activities in and out of IFRC Türkiye DEL and the Turksih Red Crescent for social media and digital communications specific components.
- Support identification and documentation of best practices within social media activities in IFRC Türkiye DEL, as well as promote these best practices within communications sector.
Project Management
- Support in the development and management of the Storyteller Project in coordination with the Turkish Red Crescent and creative agencies if deemed appropriate.
Education
Required
- Bachelors’ degree in design, journalism, communications, marketing or international relations
Preferred
- Masters’ degree in a related communications field
Experience
Required
- At least three years’ experience in campaigns and social media
- Experience in creating compelling content for a variety of communications and social media channels
- Experience of multimedia design and website management
- Experience in working with creative agencies and advising managerial and technical staff in X-Media strategies and dissemination
- Proven experience in working directly with refugees and other vulnerable people
- Experience in project management and coordinating several stakeholders to reach project goals.
- Experience working on donor communications/visibility requirements
Preferred
- Experience working in an international humanitarian, international development or related field
- Red Cross and Red Crescent and IFRC experience
- Experience in coordinating or managing staff and/or consultants
